Philemon

For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you. (Philemon 1:7 ESV)

Thank you dear friends who have refreshed my heart.  I am grateful for each and everyone of you.

This small book is a beautiful example of unifying and redeeming broken people in Christ.  I've been pondering a lot about that lately.  Brokenness. Unity.

How do we live in constant need of grace? How do we live lives that draw others to Christ?

half marathon training: week one

Over Christmas break, it was decided that my roommate and I would venture upon training for a half-marathon.  You might be thinking to yourself, "Why on earth would they possibly be doing that?!?"  And the truth is, I think its time for a stretch, not only physically, but in every other aspect of life as well. Yes, we chose the run/walk plan, but I still consider it a feat that we have accomplished one week of training.  Only nine more to go.  If you know me at all, you would know that there is not an athletic bone in my body.  I find that I am somehow proving myself wrong though and I am glad for that. Feel free to cheer us on March 6 in Little Rock.  Also, I am sure that as the training intensifies, I will not be so chipper in my thoughts towards it, so also feel free to encourage us along our way.  Fortunately, it doesn't end on March 6.  We are hoping this spurs a habit of healthy living. And who knows.... I may be a runner after all.
